Treat size as its own question

Before risking a valuable-looking egg, compare carrying behavior with two low-risk targets that the live UI distinguishes by size. Use the same route and avoid changing Speed, equipment, panel effects, or server conditions between attempts.
Observe:
- acceleration after pickup;
- straight-line movement;
- turning width;
- ability to jump or cross small obstacles;
- route completion time;
- distance a pursuer gains during the same segment;
- any stamina, carry, or status indicator.
If the larger egg feels slower but no stat changes, phrase the conclusion narrowly: the tested run took longer under those conditions. Do not invent a weight-to-Speed formula. Server latency, route mistakes, and different threats can distort a single attempt, so repeat the comparison.
Compare like with like
Size testing fails when every other variable changes. Use the closest pair the game gives you: same visible egg name or family, same location, same mutation state, and the same route. If the current interface does not expose enough information to create a matched pair, keep the result descriptive.

You only need an answer for the next run. Does this larger egg change the route, hatch choice, or pet slot decision? If it does not, stop testing and keep moving.
Separate size from mutation
A mutation is a named variant or special state. Size describes scale or weight. Both can exist on the same egg or pet in the original system, but neither proves the other.
When you see a special shell or particle effect, inspect the label. When you see a large object, inspect the size field. After hatching, capture both fields separately with the displayed earning value. This stops you crediting a strong mutation result to size, or calling a large result Spirit Bloom when the card never used that name.
The official target thumbnail includes Spirit Bloom 2.5%. Treat that as artwork text. It does not define the current relationship among Spirit Bloom, egg size, hatch chance, or income.
Keep a hatch comparison log

If the larger target creates a route you fail repeatedly, a smaller reliable egg can produce more actual income. If both routes are safe, compare the live result card instead of assuming the bigger model wins.
Leave old size claims in their own game
Third-party base-game pages describe size using their own current labels, weights, and economic behavior. They are useful for understanding why players compare eggs, not for publishing exact SAE IS MODDED formulas.
Do not state:
- a fixed set of size tiers;
